NFL.com NEW YORK -- The Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers will play for the AFC West title in prime time. The game next Sunday between the rivals in San Diego has been moved from 4:15 p.m. ET to 8:15 p.m. and will be televised by NBC as part of the NFL's flexible scheduling. The Broncos blew an early 13-0 lead and lost to the Buffalo Bills 30-23 Sunday in the second-coldest game in Denver's history. It set up an all-or-nothing game against the Chargers next week for the division title and a playoff berth after San Diego routed Tampa Bay 41-24 earlier in the day. The Broncos (8-7) led the Chargers (7-8) by three games with three to go, but now face the possibility of having led the AFC West by themselves from opening weekend through Christmas and missing the playoffs. The flex scheduling was instituted with the new television contract in 2005 to allow more attractive games to be switched to prime time in the last two months of the season. |

1. Texas (LW: 2) - Horns should be in Miami. 2. Florida (3) - Gators withstood a Tide Roll and punched their ticket to Miami. 3. Oklahoma (4) - Scoring all those points is nice, but Sooners better save some for the title game. 4. Alabama (1) - Almost kept the dream alive, but Florida wanted it more. 5. Utah (5) - A win over Texas or Alabama would add value to BCS buster in the title game argument. 6. Texas Tech (6) - Are 12.5 million reasons enough to keep Mike Leach off the coaching carousel? 7. USC (7) - Seems odd that 1 loss Trojans are afterthoughts in title race. 8. Boise St. (8) - Can Fiesta magic give Broncos 2nd BCS berth. 9. Penn St. (9) - Will Lions offense be HD or a back and white television in Pasadena? 10. Ohio St. (10) - No rest for the Buckeyes in Bowl Season, Longhorns just about like an SEC team. 11. Ole Miss (11) - If it weren’t for Tim Tebow, we may have been taking about Jevan Snead leading Florida to the title game. Rebels thankful for Tebow (and Colt McCoy) 12. Oklahoma St. (12) - Mike Leachisn’t the only South coach to get an extension. 13. TCU (14) - Potential TCU-Boise Poinsettia Bowl could be best non-BCS match-up. 14. Georgia Tech (15) - Paul Johnson got to see that his old home is in good hands. 15. Cincinnati (16) - Bearcats may have thought a Hawaii trip in December was going to be like their bowl, but it ended up being Bowl practice. 16. BYU (18) - Cougars hope Mendenhall goes unnoticed in the coaching carousel. 17. Michigan St. (19) - Has Dantonio gotten the corner turned in East Lansing? 18. Oregon (20) - Chip Kelly, welcome to the wonderful world of succession plans. 19. Northwestern (21) - Lane Kiffin keeps Fitzgerald from three-peating as youngest coach. 20. Georgia (22) - Fatal runs did the Dawgs in each of their losses. 21. Ball St. (13) - Cards let opportunity and an unbeaten dream slip through their fingers. 22. Rice (24) - Imagine if the SWC still was alive, it would’ve been a monster with Texas, Tech, TCU, Houston, and Owls. 23. Pitt (25) - Is Dave Wannstedt on the right path on the Pete Carroll road to transitioning to a college gig. 24. Virginia Tech (NR) - 3 titles in 5 years, I think Tech likes this whole ACC thing. 25. Missouri (23) - Tigers reduced to a bump in the road by Sooners.
My Heisman
1. Colt McCoy, QB, Texas - His middle stretch of games probably was the most in the zone passing ever seen in football. 2. Tim Tebow, QB, Florida - If Tebow’s W’s trump the Big XII numbers, we may have a repeat. 3. Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma - Honestly even Bradford’s not a wrong choice to win it. |

1. (1) Who needs Plax? Not the Giants. 2. (2) Yeah it was the Lions, but they sure did lay a beatdown. 3. (3) The Steelers D made Matt Cassel look like what he is...a backup. 4. (5) Not winning pretty, but winning nonetheless. 5. (6) Still dominant and DeAngelo did his best impersonation of Michael Turner, scoring 4 TDs. 6. (7) Seven in a row. These guys are like the cockroaches of football...never say die. 7. (8) This time the run game was (almost) kept in check by the Bolts, but Matt Montana knew what he had to do...throw the ball to Roddy Rice. 8. (4) They're lucky to still be on here. How do you lose to the lowly Donks after you just laid the wood to the Pats?. Dropped off: None |
